Link knee cartilage problems pre-diagnosis and breast cancer?

Hi people. In the 15months prior to my diagnosis of hormone-neg, HER2+ breast cancer, I had three cartilage or ligament injuries to my knees. I also had low Vit D levels on diagnosis. They do know that Vit D protects against breast cancer, and that it also protects against osteoarthritis and against thinning of cartilage, and helps strengthen ligaments.
I have a research question for you and would really be grateful if you could tell me of your own experience in this area.

3)Do women are diagnosed with breast cancer, esp active and fast-growing breast cancers often have a recent history of problems with knee cartilage and with knee joints in general, during the period before they are diagnosed with breast cancer?
many thanks
Jessica
ps I am finally back at work as a psychologist, seeing only a 2-3 clients a day, for 2 days a week for a start, but I am so loving being back.

Jessica,

I haven't had any knee problems before or after diagnosis. I was also low in vitamin D but I was told this is a very common issue.

Take Care,
Brenda

I have had 2 surgeries after dx- 1st was knee injury after i tripped over the dog, 2nd was DeQuervain's Syndrome right wrist. I am blaming it on chemo taking tiny little bites out of my connective tissue :)

i did. i had stopped running because of my knees and had (still have) patellar chondromalacia and little bone floaters in my knee and of course decreased amounts of cartilage. i cannot tell you what level my D was at the time, just that i was told to start taking it and have ever since. v
