Seventy percent of people with HER2-positive breast cancers develop resistance to Herceptin,
Where is this statistic coming from?

Interesting!

That's the highest estimate I've ever seen for the percentage of breast cancers that are HER-2 positive ("up to one third.") Previously I've seen 1/5 to 1/4.

Hopeful, I can't speak to the content of the article. You could contact the writer, I guess. What I have learned, actually just yesterday, from a leading (has research foundation in his name) oncologist at Mt. Sinai, was that the cells that express LESS HER2 actually dodge Herceptin's radar. I thought that interesting. I am treated at Memorial, and have an integrative oncologist as well. I will ask them their thoughts on the subject.
