Poll Question: Tykerb / Herceptin?

Please reply your answers. Yes or No, that's easy, right? :-)

Please, pretty please! :-D

Thank you very much.

OK Jo Jo
you've got me stumped! Or maybe my computer is acting up and I'm missing something!

What's the question?

So for now I guess I'm a definite "maybe?"

BTW - where exactly are you in the bay area? Are you treated at UCSF or elsewhere? Just curious, like to keep tabs on my sista's!

Jo Jo,

I am with Chrisy. What poll?

So Jojo, I guess your question is "are you taking tykerb with herceptin?" I did talk to my onc today about that very subject and he said although there are trials starting up now, there is no data out there right now. Although it would make sense to use both (tykerb acts in the cancer cell and herceptin acts on the surface), he is concerned about side effects using the two (especially cardiac issues). He wants to wait for some early trial results. Let's hope it's soon.

I am not on Ty/Herc. My onc and I keep it in conversation and he keeps an eye towards the trials, but as he always says, we want to be very careful of 'unintended consequences' - and as I am not in need of experimental or off label approaches just now, it is not in our toolbox yet.
