Hair shedding...it happens all at once now
I have noticed something rather unique. Since my hair has come back, once a year my hair sheds, like a dog during spring. And for about 3 months I look like I have extremely thin hair. Actually, more like a rats nest with weird patches of long hair and bushy short hair. Then it balances out again. Before I would shed hair in tiny batches like everyone else. A little a day.
Has anyone noticed that your hair's shedding routine was permanently altered after treatment? |
Re: Hair shedding...it happens all at once now
Wow, I was just thinking the same thing this week - I noticed my hair is shedding more than usual the past couple of weeks- I'll have to take note if this is a"Spring thing".
One home remedy I've been using to help with hair volume/thickening is to take one tablespoon of organic coconut oil and one tablespoon of Manuka honey (or organic honey, Manuka is expensive), heat them in a small saucepan together. While still warm (warm, not hot!), pour over your hair, mostly on the ends if your hair is thin, put into a bun and cover with a plastic shower cap for about 30 minutes. Then wash well as usual, you'll need 2 shampoos. If your hair is very long you may need to double the amount. all the best caya |
Re: Hair shedding...it happens all at once now
I have major hair thinning - although not seasonal
for me the cause is hormone therapy/menopause at a young age saw my GP yesterday and really there is not much you can do other than Rogaine/Minoxidal, even Biotin supplements are controversial in terms of effectiveness (I do take them but I don't see an improvement) hopefully yours is just cyclical |
Re: Hair shedding...it happens all at once now
Thanks for the replies! Mine is totally cyclical. I find that I have to cut my hair by 3 inches so the old hair that is left blends with the newer younger hair. This year I'm going to let it grow out more to see if I can get away with it.
I am going to try the coconut oil thingy. I love coconut oil so I'll give it a whirl |
