Soy's protective effect against breast cancer varies by receptor status
|
Oh I would hesitate to overdo the soy. Before this last episode of IDCIS, I was eating LOTS of tofu and other soy products. In the back of my mind, in retrospect, I often wondered if the phytoestrogens in the soy contributed to my tumor since it was ER/PR pos. I limit my soy intake considerably now.

Thanks for this
I always found it interesting that women in Asia got less breast cancer than those in the west but it seemed to be much more likely to be her2-positive (around 50% for S. Korea as I recall). That soy consumption is only associated with less ER+, PR+, her2-negative BC makes alot of sense.
