Diag: April 2002 at age 49 after negative steriotactic biopsy 14 months previously. Stage III A -Infiltrating ductal carcinoma in right breast multiple primaries (largest 5.5 cm.) 10/20 lymph nodes positive Nuclear grade 3 ER+/PR+ Her2+++. Had mastectomy on cancerous breast and had profalactic breast removal on other side. Expanders for reconstuction were placed at the same time as mast. Haven't gotten the saline implants placed yet. Also had veinous access device (port) hooked up at time of surgery. Participated in clinical trial NSABP-31. Recieved A/C X 4 then Taxol X 4 with herceptin every week. Was removed from study after MUGA scan showed significant heart damage. 28 Radiation treatments. Taking Nolvadex for hormone control. Mild lymphodema in right arm. I hope to participate in a clinical trial involving a herceptin vaccine.
