Urgent advice needed
 

hey ladies,

Mom had her 10th Herceptin infusion yesterday and all shoud have been well as she has no problems after Herceptin at all !! the thing is her oncologist gave her a 4mg Zoldonast infusion as well for her osteoporisis( her DEXA SCAN says she has it) Mom is running a fever today and though I have given her a anti fever tablet and fever is the commonest side effect of the 1st infusion of Zoldonast should I rush her to the hospital ? like we were advised for any signs of fever during her chemotherapy ???

I know I am panicking here since she isnt immuno suppressed rite now but have any of u been administered Zoldonast and if yes,does the fever subside in a few days ????

I've had Reclast (similar to zolodex) and it can cause flu-like symptoms for a couple of days. Like you said, it is a side effect but not in any way like the chemo warning at all. If you are that worried, call the dr, but I'd give it another day or so unless your mom gets worse

Thanku so much Janis !!! Mom s fever seems to be going down n she isnt feeling chilly anymore after the pill !! we shall never the less be watching over her like a hawk !!

NO WORRIES. The fever for the first infusion of this drug is almost a given and the flu-like symptoms too. It will never occur again. It seems its just the first one and that's it. It happened to me too. Next one she will just feel alittle funky but not like this infusion.

mom is much better today...no chills at all n fever is down to 99 C and coming down and she is feeling less tired and back to normal almost...

she has to be given Zoldonast two times a year,just like you so her next is due in Jan'14.
