How do folks deal with medical care long distance? Anyone here being treated at MD Anderson long distance? Do you have a local primary doc or oncologist for day to day things?

My Mom is being treated for liver and lung mets through MD Anderson. That is where her primary onc. is. However, a local onc., (in KY) meets with my Mom before her chemo treatments. Both oncologists have agreed with her tx thus far so the set up has been a good one for her. Flying to Houston every three or four months for scans is very pricey but so far so good so we think it's been worth the travel.
