Lyrica for neuropathy

FYI ladies,
Lyrica is amazingly helpful for neuropathy pain from chemo. I am on 600 mg, a large dose, but I split it up to 200mg 3x per day. Haven't gone so far as jogging yet, but would like to try in a week or so.
My oncolygist told me it wouldn't work, but I wanted to try it any way, I was sick of being on morphine and Percocet for pain relief that he would have me on. So I asked my family doc for a prescription, and after ramping up the dose over about a month, I have a new best friend.
Bottom line is, our doctors DONT have the final say, go with your gut and get another opinion if something doesn't feel right.

Re: Lyrica for neuropathy

Hi Kristin so glad you found something to help. I took 75mg at night for a pinched nerve in my shoulder from radiation and it helped tremendously I mentioned it to a few friends with MS and fibromyalgia to bring up to the docs but so far they haven't followed through, prefer to suffer it seems. thanks for passing this along, I'll bring it up at the next cancer support meeting here.
