I was not on a clinical trial but with a high Her2nu (strongly positive) ER PR positive and only one round of AC (severe reaction)horrible burns after 20 rads to esophagus down to 87 lbs and on liquids started Tamoxifen when I could get down some very bland solids I told the onco I wanted to try Herceptin/Taxol (just off trials)
He sent my history to BCBS and they decided that they would pay for the treatment. He had never done Stage 2 Herceptin/Taxol regiment but I decided if I was going to have this junk I was going down swinging. So thanks to the Herceptin/Taxol/Tamoxifen and most of all my faith and my husband I am still here 5 years and 4 months later. Now I am looking to the 10 year mark. I am so thankful for the drug which I know has saved many lives.
