6 years and counting!

Hi everyone!

I changed my profile picture to my darling Emma who was 9 months old when I was diagnosed ~ she is a big 1st grader now! Time has passed and I am so happy to say that I am still running with my NED friend.

It hasn't been a easy 6 years for me (how is cancer ever easy?) but it has been a wonderful life changing one. We go through much, physically, emotionally and spiritually but as I reach a phase where I can breath a little easier I wanted to reach out and hopefully inspire someone out there. I gained so much from the ladies (and gents) that posted here when I first started reaching out for support. This is a wonderful place that brought me comfort many days and nights.

Love you all and bless everyone.
Hugs ~ Ruth

Hi Ruth, First of all...BIG CONGRATULATIONS on being 6 yrs out & NED. (Yeah!) I can't tell you how much I appreciate the women like you that share such encouraging posts for us.

I know when I was first DX & found this board I ran across Audrey's & MicheleU's posts...like you they were both NED. Those posts meant so much to me...I was scared out of my mind and my onc gave me no hope so I can't tell you how much we all appreciate you taking the time to stick around and share your great news with us.

I hope your doing something special to celebrate such a big occassion. Go out and have some fun.

Heres to you and NED living happily ever after. :)

Congratulations Ruth! I dream of days when so many will tell of their 6, 10, 20 year journeys to encourage others. So glad that your little girl has her mom to love and train her for her future. Here's to many, many more years of celebration. ma

Thank you all for your kinds responses! We are going to celebrate my 6 years in the British Virgin Islands in a couple of weeks. If anyone has been there, please give me tips. I am SOOOOOO excited! I've heard that we should go see "the Baths" ...pools to snorkel in and around boulders or something?
With school being out I haven't had much of a chance to research it. Camps, slumber parties, teenage boys deciding to start a band in our garage ;-o, and oldest with first girlfriend! There is not much mommy time! HA
Love you all and thank you again for your kind words.
Ruth
