My sis had her second surgery...

on Monday. The surgeon removed additional lymph and inserted a port for her chemo. She did well, and the Dr. said he didn't see anything unusual (but he didn't expect to since the sentinel node had microscopic spots). She will get pathology sometime soon, maybe tomorrow. I just arrived home this evening, in time to have my CT scan tomorrow.

Sis will heal for three weeks and then begin chemo. We are continuing to plan our trip to the Maryland shore, where she can heal and mentally prep for the next stage of the journey.

Thank you all so much for your kindness. It's therapeutic for me to have a place to get my thoughts and feelings into words.

Keeping you in my prayers.
Barb A.

Barb, are you a juggler in real life? (smiling). You are taking care of sis, yourself and keeping us posted all at the same time. Thanks for the update on her and I am almost as excited to hear about her recovery on the beautiful Maryland shore. Keeping you both in my heart as you battle more than one war. Keep the faith and enjoy the wonderous moments a sister brings....I do not have one but I live vicariously through the many sisters I have here. Love and hugs.>>Believe51

Thanks for responding, Believe. I so appreciate your taking the time. A juggler I'm not! (smiling) My dear husband takes up a great deal of slack for me!

You and your husband are often in my thoughts and prayers.

Sis had her second surgery...

and just got her drain out this afternoon, along with a pathology report that indicated no additional nodal involvement! We are very grateful. She is sounding tired, but relieved. Now a healing time and then the beginning of chemo.

Thanks for listening....

Great news, Barb. Despite what you say, I believe that you are a juggler and a mighty fine one at that (wink). Thanks for keeping us so well informed about you Sweet Sister and the journey she travels. Always nice thoughts.>>Believe51
