severe pain in lower back, very worried

Hello ladies,
I started on tdm1/kadcycla 3 months ago. In the last few months I have had twinges of pain in my lower back which have been uncomfortable but manageable. In the last few days the pain has become very severe. I am unable to get up or sit down without help and morphine is not taking the pain away. I am very worried that this could be something sinister. Can you offer me any advice please?
Thanks for reading x,

I see you are having a body scan. Maybe they could move up your appointment since you are in so much pain. It could be a back problem (disc) or a kidney stone. Hope you get relief soon. Sending prayers and hugs.

I agree that you should get scan and diagnosis as soon as possible. Wondering is the worst!
But remember that just because we have cancer doesn't mean we are immune from other "regular" ailments! As Diane said, it could be any number of benign things. So don't borrow trouble yet!
Keep the faith

I have been in severe back pain since last Saturday. Saw my doc yesterday he said its new so we'll keep an eye on it. If you are worried about bone mets, this is what my nurse told me -bones mets are usually not symmetric, meaning if on both sides then less likely. You can also check the calcium level in your blood. Higher than normal level can raise some concern.
I hope nothing is serious! A scan is the best way to tell.

I agree to getting the scan but remember a bone scan tends to show everything, even arthritis or old injuries so an MRI may be better, I'd let your Onc know the pain you're in so he can decide, chances are its muscular but best to check for peace of mind and praying for nothing sinister, please keep us posted.

Another thought: have you ever had severe backpain, like lumbago, before? Does it feel similar or is it different? Because you describe exactly how my lumbago starts. Anyway, I'd contact my medical team and ask for evaluation asap. You've been through enough. You should not need to worry unnecessarily. I hope they rule out bonemets.

Love

Jacqueline
