Port out
 

I had my port removed yesterday. It didnt bother me but I didnt want to continue the hour drive every 6 weeks for the flushing.
It also seemed like a step in the positive direction for me. Now when I go back to see my surgeon in 2 weeks I will ask for some referrals for reconstruction. I am excited about that, but a bit worried too. got to stretch this skin out to match the other one.. concerned about that but not enough to back out!

I like my port right now because I still need some treatments. Do they ever get damaged? It was accessed yesterday during the expander implant exchange. The nurse had to stick it twice and then it dripped too slowly so they had to put an IV into my vein. I thought that was weird. I hope it's not damaged.

I kept my port for my scap book, I may be a little weird but I felt a contection to it since I had it in me for a year. Good luck on your construction. I am almost through mine, I have the expanders taken out for the silicon on the 19th. Can't wait for the softer version, the expanders are like mellons somewhat hard. The expansion not too bad after a day or two you get used to the new size. Hope all goes well.
