Here in Australia herceptin is costly for those with early breast cancer . I am 49 aand live in NSW. I finished chemo( 8/AC+4/T ) 6 months ago.4cm tumor/Grade 3/ stage 3 HER2+++.1 node involved.Mastectomy. I am fortunate to have the money(inherited from grandmother ) as so many here in Australia have to fund raise for themselves.I have just joined this support group and am learning so much.This is all such an encouragement.

I wanted to bring this post back. I think it will give alot of women just starting Herceptin encouragment!! If anyone wants to get back on this post to update info, that would be great. I'm 2 1/2 years out from dx. Had one year Herceptin after chemo. 35 pos nodes, er/pr neg. Still NED. Just had mammo today. It was really good to see a negative mammo again!

Michele, That is great news! I just reached my second anniversary past dx. I had 7 nodes positive. Stage IIIa, ER/PR - , HER+++. Completed one year of Herceptin in November after chemo. Had radiation while on Herceptin. All follow-ups have been good. I will have another mammo in May. Janie
