Camp LeJeune & Male Breast Cancer`

http://mbcc.org/breast-cancer-preven...breast-cancer/

I thought the above story might be of great interest to our community. I sincerely don't know why this information is not front page, but, alas, the story is currently running via "Semper Fi" on the film circuit.

A tragedy, an eye-opener...and screaming for attention.

Karen--
Thank you for sharing this link to Peter Devereaux's story. It hit close to home, causing me to recall all too vividly my shock and then fear when I learned that men too get breast cancer. It sounds like Peter may be Her2+. I think he would be welcome at our forum. I know I have been made to feel that way.
Thanks again-

I too spent time at Tarawa Terrance in Camp Lejuene. My brother and I are both infertile. I have breast cancer. He lacked a growth hormone so has had treatment at Johns Hopkins............we were poisoned.

Yes, he is HER2+. We connected via telephone through a mutual contact. This story is just screaming to be heard.
How are you doing? What is your current status?
One Rare Bird, great nom de plume.

Lorraine,
Darling! I am so sorry! Mystified! Were you part of Semper Fi? Were you contacted? This is a scary, scary issue...reminiscent of smallpox in the sleeping bags of Indians. Good grief--what have you done about this?

Re: Camp LeJeune & Male Breast Cancer`

Karen,
Thanks for asking about me. I am doing great, all-things considered. My oncologist proclaims me NED at our 6 month get-togethers. I feel somewhat sheepish saying this because of the struggles so many of the contributors I read about on this forum. But I am grateful to you and the others here for sharing their experiences and knowledge so openingly. If it helps someone, I hope that I can do the same, particularly for any males that find themselves in our Her2-boat.
Thanks again.

Sheepish? No! You are the beacon, you're showing it can be done as do so many others!
Never feel that way. I've been a witness to so much in my life, I am of the firm belief that we control just so much and the rest is left up to forces much greater than ourselves, yes, God! We may not every understand The Plan but we must accept it. In the great scope of things, we are just like the song "Dust In The Wind," part of evolution, part of the turning of the universe. Uh oh, I just rolled over into deep philosophy--but like everyone, I want to be here to raise my little one, who needs all I can give her little growing mind.
Thanks for sharing, and offering.
Karen
