Houston, TX

MD Anderson at Houston, TX has a satellite treatment center at Clear Lake/Webster, TX off Nasa Road One. If you go to the MD Anderson web site, it's called Bay Area. It's much easier than going to the Houston medical center. Parking is free and there's no traffic problems. There is Radiation and Chemo in one building. Also blood draws and results are done there. You go in, get your blood draw and 15 minutes later, the results are in. The chemo comes up quick. Radiation is in and out fast. There is even a small gym you can use. Dr. Craig Kovitz is my onc. Dr. Ballo was my radiation dr.

I want to put in a plug for the Breast Diagnostic Center which is affiliated with Clear Lake Regional Medical Center. Dr. Dreher is a world-class imaging specialist. She did my stereotactic core biopsy and my pre-surgical guide wire placement. They also have two awesome "patient navigators" Joni and Mona, who help patients through the treatment maze even after they have left the diagnostic stage. They have a great support group that meets monthly at the BDC.
