Swelling/sores on lips w/Xeloda & Tykerb??
 

I am a new member to this forum. Stage IV. Twenty months on Abaxane, w/wo
Avastin, and Herceptin resolved large chest mass. Zometa for bone mets, which
are widespread. Started new regime two weeks ago of Xeloda and Tykerb. Had severe diarrhea, not helped by Immodium. Then swelling of the lips and sores/ulcerations on lips (painful) started. No sores inside mouth, as is more typical. Has anyone experienced these problems with lips?? Thank you for any help or guidance that you can offer.

Just a guess, but the sores/ulcers might be the beginning of "the rash" that many on Tykerb get. And from what I understand, it's a good thing. It's supposed to mean that you are responsive to Tykerb. Keep an eye on it and tell your doc!

Also, I will be trying bentonite clay (can be bought at Whole Foods supplement dept) for diarrhea instead of immodium... it is highly absorptive. I will post when I know more about how it works for me.
