Gabrielle in 10th year
 

Hi Friends,

Just want to check in and say I'm in my 10th year.

Diagnosed Dec 23 1999. Stage III at age 44; Her2/Neu, estrogen negative; 9 positive nodes out of 21; 5.2 cm tumor, infiltrating ductal.

Treatment: Mastectomy; 4 rounds of adriamycin / cytoxin, 4 rounds of taxotere, 25 hits of radiation; 52 weekly treatments of Herceptin.

Prophylactic mastectomy and hysterectomy one year after diagnosis.

It hasn't recurred. My kids were 9 and 12 at diagnosis; now they are 18 and 21.

Almost halfway through my doctorate. God is good.

Is your doctorate study in the health science field? Just curious.

My doctorate is in business administration -- I'm a CPA. I wish you continued good health -- glad my post helped. When I was first diagnosed, the survivor posts were so encouraging for me -- glad I can do that now for others! :)
