PNC-28, a p53 peptide,natural protein effective against pancreatic,breast..cancers
The interesting point in this research on animals is that PNC-28 is a p53 peptide, which is a naturally occurring human protein. This means that side effects are likely to be mild if PNC-28 ever becomes an approved drug.
Its main drawback is being a protein which means it is not a candidate for oral intake as it is likely be degraded in the GI track. This is probably the reason why the experimental mice were treated with direct (or nearby) injections in tumors. http://www.downstate.edu/newsroom/ne...es_full20.html October 2, 2006] ENCOURAGING RESULTS IN PANCREATIC CANCER RESEARCH Protein Destroys Tumor Cells in Animals, Leaves Normal Cells Unharmed |
