Re: Alcohol ban? Really?

Thanks, Paul. I rarely ever drank and got breast cancer anyway. And then I know women who drink daily and are perfectly fine. I don't think it makes a difference one way or the other.

I'm the same - rarely drank. A glass of rose once on a blue moon! Yet here I am!

Recently here (UK) there has been numerous articles about how 1 glass of wine ( a day, a week, etc) increases your cancer risk.
Never smoked either.
Wonder what they will come out with next!

I do not believe that is the main cause. Maybe it is one of the factors that could affect.

It just hit me reading the posts. They say one glass of WINE a week a day a year increases breast cancer risk. What about beer, what about whiskey, what about mixed drinks. Why is it always wine?

At age 69 You get cynical. It may have something to do with the non-wine liquor industry. When the gas prices goes way up you know it before you leave the house. You turn on the computer and there is a headline "Pain at the Pump." Do you think it is slightly possible that the Oil companies pay the media to put this up to prepare people?

Look at it this way. Moderate wine consumption has been linked with a lower heart attack rate. Breast cancer can last for years, even decades. A massive heart attack can kill you in seconds. Notice I said moderate.

I for one am sick of all the MONEY and TIME spent on these repetitive studies of what people eat and drink. Every few months there is a "new" study talking about wine, or breastfeeding, or exercise ... or whatever, to put the not so subtle blame on the patient, and what they did or failed to do, as to why they got cancer.

I say ... Figure out what causes cancer to spread. Figure out how to stop that from happening. That is why people die from this horrific disease. That is all.
