breast tumor bigger-brain mets stable
 

Does it make sense to anyone that breast tumor is growing (detected by touch and PET/MRI scans) but other organs are stable? That was the report this summer for my Mom. Her tumor in breast seems to be continuing to enlarge (detected by touch).

As I understand it, metastases are "daughters" of the original tumor but are not exactly the same, so a drug that "works" on one might not be effective on the other. On the other hand, although a tumor in the breast isn't lethal, I'd be concerned about one that's growing.

Definitely worth a conversation with a surgeon, or a second opinion, I'd say.
