Sis gets her port out tomorrow!

I'll be traveling to her area to take her for her port removal tomorrow. At the time she was told she would need one, we thought the course of her treatment would be forever.....here's hoping that she will not need to have one again! She really disliked having it and wants it out! I know that it seems prudent to allow a port to remain for a bit until one is NED for a while, but she says that if she needs another one, she will deal with it again then. Hers was never very comfortable, and she associates it with the blood clot she had during treatment.....so it will be gone tomorrow. Ever since Colleen's husband referred to hers as the "damn port" , that's what we've called it.

Being at this stage of the game makes me grateful all over again for the wonderful help and support we received here. I've become a daily reader, if not a daily contributer. You ladies are all absolutely awsome, and you are always in my prayers.

Mine was never comfortable either. It was a relief to have it removed. And another milestone in recovery. Good for her!!!!
