Losing Belly Fat
Everyone's body is different. I gained a lot of weight during treatment, especially in the belly. My last Herceptin was in November 2006. My diet hasn't changed any. In fact, I have an appointment with the nutritionist at the cancer center to help me learn to eat better. But I am losing belly fat without trying. I can actually pull in my stomach now. There probably is no proof on this, but I think some of us gain weight around the middle with Herceptin or maybe retain water with the treatment. So take heart. When I looked at my body profile sideways in the mirror during treatment, my stomach bulged big time. I looked at myself yesterday and I could actually pull in my gut. It doesn't happen to everyone, but it happened to me.

I have just stopped herceptin for the second time (this time I was taking it weekly) and have already noticed a change. My weight is only a couple of pounds different, but I can sure tell the difference the way clothes fit.

losing belly fat
I also gained weight on treatment. Not so much in the belly , but in the abdomen, and having only one boob it makes it look even bigger. rather frustrating when trying to buy somethig nice to wear to my granddaughters wedding. Jeanette

Great to hear I'm not the only one finding skirts and jeans a lot tighter but not seeming to have actually put much more weight on. I love this site! I'm on number 11 of 18 Herceptins and you've given me something else to look forward to once it finishes.

I really thing they should pu this on Herceptin as a side effect. I have put on 23 pounds over the past 3 1/2 year....no diet change, just clothing size!!! If i am ever taken off, I hope the belly fat goes away!
