they are coming to take your ovaries!!!

for those unaware who Tiptoe is, she is our mascot CHINESE HAMSTER.
All those who have benefited from herceptin have CHINESE HAMSTERs to thank as the antibody Genentech produces is 99% human and 1% from Chinese hamster ovaries. (I doubt the hamsters benefited from having their ovaries removed….rather the hamsters were "removed")

Here is the news that the valiant Chinese hamsters may someday no longer have to give their ovaries (or their lives) in order to manufacture monoclonal antibodies for her2+ humans.

By the way, Dr. Ronald Levy has been talking and writing about using tobacco plant leaves for the manufacture of monoclonal antibodies for at least 20 years

Dear Lani -
Once again good info!

If I am not mistaken, they used tobacco leaves to grow something that went into the Ebola virus vaccine. It was a Top Secret project.

My hubby thinks by now I should have a little fuzz on my ears since I had so much Herceptin over the many years I took it!

I am heavily indebted to the many Chinese hamsters that went to their great reward in my behalf!
