Reposting for Vaughn - Tykerb question

....."""I'm looking for feedback on my situation. my mother was diagnosed w\her2 breast cancer almost one year ago; she's 70 now. She also had a cva in 01. They did a modified radical mastectomy a year ago; she refused radiation and chemo following surgery. About 4 months ago the cancer returned, including a spot on her spine and two on her ribs. They started her on Herceptin. After 4 Herceptin tx's, the spot on the spine is larger and there are two new spots on her ribs. The oncologist wants to start her on Tykerb. I'm looking for anyone who has a similar situation or has been on Tykerb."""

CAN ANYONE HELP OUR NEW FRIEND,Vaughn WITH SOME ANSWERS & COMMENTS HERE??>>Believe51

I have been on Tykerb/Xeloda since last May for brain mets, which showed all clear 4 months after starting the regimen... it also cleared one bone met spot on my neck at C3. I have tolerated this combo extremely well.

I just started Tykerb/Xeloda this month for progression of my lung mets. Just about ready to finish my first cycle so it's too soon to tell if the combo is working for me. My oncologist is considering adding Ixempra to the mix which I would receive the week I do not have the Xeloda.
