Our New Board
At the recent annual meeting of Men Against Breast Cancer, the group's founder, Marc Heyison made what I thought was a very profound statement:
"The first place breast cancer metastesizes to is the family" All of us whose loved ones are fighting this disease know of the impact breast cancer has on our families. Unfortunately, overnight, our lives have changed forever and will never be the same. Regards Joe |
Very true Joe,
I know that my first thoughts when I was told that I had cancer was my children. They are 12 and 10 now. My son missed 19 days of school last year, all starting right after my diagnosis. Fortunately, all change is not bad. I am closer to my family and extended family members that I have ever been. Some good can come from evil! Cheryl |
couldn't agree more...
Hi Joe-
In my post from a long time ago - "I Am Every Woman" there is a line: "I am every woman with Stage-Four Metastatic Shhhh! Breast cancer to her life. Mets to her family, her friends and her lovers. " It's true - mets to the whole fam damily. Glad to see this caregivers corner. Thanks again for all that you and Christine have done. Flori |
