Herceptin and tykerb - is that my magic bullet?

5 months of Kadcyla took care of the chest wall nodes I had but doctor wanted to change drug since my skin biopsy came back positive . I got half dose this month and while waiting for perjeta approval, I started on tykerb 3 tabs a day. I thought why not just add tykerb and see what happens since My new skin mets stopped responding to Kadcyla anyways.

Today is the 10th day and my doctor was amazed to see how much better my skin mets look now! The 3 red lesions that were raised and angry looking are not starting to fade color. The pea size nodule underneath is not palpable now. And there are no new lesions. He looked at them and again with his glasses and he called in the nurse to see and we all reached the same verdict - tykerb is doing something!!!

So the plan changed from perjeta herceptin with abraxane to herceptin and tykerb. I am hoping that is all I needed for now at least for 6 months . My body needs a break for the big chemo guns!!

Tykerb and Herceptin have held me at NED for quite a few months now, since around May. It is my hope and prayer that it does the same for you. Big hugs.
