Kathy S. in Tokyo Update

Below is post that Kathy just posted on another group I am on.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

It's easier to write a quick message on the outpatient resources computer in the lobby on my back from raiation than the room computer with its "thumbmouse on screen doohickey" I had treatment 7 of 10 today and will have 8, 9 and 10 on Fri., Mon & Tue. respectively. My friends will bust me out of here then and life at home will go on.

My 3rd was unsucessful in her attempt to enter the new jr./sr. high school just opening this April but she wasn't too upset as 800 other sixth graders failed as well and she is familiar with the local junior high she'll be assigned to as both elder sister went there. She was hoping for new school uniforms but we have two sets of winter and summer uniforms and gym clothes to we really don't need anything. I think we can placate her with a nice new book bag for the mile and a half walk to school (no school buses for public school in Tokyo, possible Japan).

I feel so much better than I did last weekend and it is a huge relief. It looks like the hair is coming out again later this month but I have lots of lovely head coverings (I've had compliments and ladies here say they feel more courage about being comfortable in hats and dispensing with expensive wigs of which the first 500 dollars may or may not be be covered by insurance.) I guess I'll go look up more info on whether radiation hairloss will be resolved as quickly as all the chemo crystall ball head syndrome experieces were. Chemo stops - chia pet!

Stay well all -
Hugs from Tokyo

Thanks for letting us know how Kathy is doing. She sounds good. She is quite a trooper !! Gee I wish they had computers for the patients where I go. They have nothing !! I bring my own snacks and entertainment too.
What other site are you and Kathy on?
