Taxotere/Herceptin only
 

I had to give up the Carboplatin due to an allergic reaction. The Dr. said we will finish up the last 2 treatments with the Taxotere and Herceptin. I will get scannned again and go from there. My last scan showed shrinkage after 3 treatments of TCH. So we'll have to see how much more shrinkage without the carbo. I'm nervous about not getting the full cocktail. Wish me luck. Sally

Yes, Sally we are thinking of you and hope the scans will show lots more shrinkage. Too bad you can not get the carbo, but you have to go with what is possible. Keep us posted, we care.

Sally, we are wishing you luck and praying for you, too. Glad to hear the good news about the shrinkage. Regarding the carboplatin, would it be possible to lengthen the infusion time? I'm no expert, but I seem to recall that some here have done that and it helped with reactions, and some receive that treatment in the hospital. Just something to be made aware of and consider. I've not had any trouble with the carbo or herceptin, but during my last 2 treatments I have had bad reactions to the taxotere. What they have done is give me extra dexatron, and slow the infusion way down. It takes me over two hours to get it. I still have a bit of unpleasant side effects, but it's tolerable, and I don't stop breathing and feel like I'm having a heart attack. Like Bill said, maybe your doc can do something like that for you.

Hang in there and keep talking to the doc. He or she should be able to find a combo that is perfect for you.

The taxotere alone is a kick butt drug, I had it with xeloda and herceptin. You may try that, talk to your oncologist about your options..sherryg683
