Saying thanks... 5 years!!!
Hi HER-2ers,
It is with much happiness that I write this post to say that today marks 5 years from my diagnosis. I came here often then for support and hope. I could not have done it without this board and the many amazing women and men who form this wonderful community. Thank you for your support and for sharing your stories and hope. Here's to 5, 10, 20, 30, 40 years more!!!! May we all grow old together, Marcia |

Re: Saying thanks... 5 years!!!
Wow! I'm looking at your interesting medical history. Five years is quite an accomplishment. You were a pioneer with many of your treatments, neoadjuvant treatment and a vaccine trial!
Wishing you decades of vibrant, fabulous health! |

How are your kids? I remember your screen name is the combination of your children's names... |
Re: Saying thanks... 5 years!!!
Live and learn. Bejuce is the combo of 2 kids' names.
Please share. Intriguing. Lucky combo in every way no doubt! |
Re: Saying thanks... 5 years!!!
Dear Marcia,
Isn't it wonderful to say 5 yrs....okay now we are watching your clock for 6, then 7, then 8, 9 ....and many more. Hugs, Jean |
Re: Saying thanks... 5 years!!!
Thank you all ladies!!! Yes, it's wonderful to have gotten to this point and I'm counting my blessings every day. Bejuce is the combination of letters from my 3 kids who are now 11, 9 and 7. My 7-year-old has no memories of my breast cancer and my 9-year-old doesn't remember much either. My 11-year-old (almost 12 really) knows what we went through but has learned in middle school that there are other kids whose mom had breast cancer as well. In fact, there are 2 other kids in her class. They discovered their common bond when one day they were placed together in the same table group and the girls were wondering why the boy had a pink binder...
I took my picture down when I decided to leave my then job (which became a nightmare after I got sick) and interview for my now current job (where no one knows I had cancer hence my private profile picture showing our dog). I still had my wig on at the time. It's been a long journey and now I'm contemplating reconstruction. I'm happy to be alive and well and I'm looking forward to many, many more adventures and time with my family. I dream of becoming a grandma one day and coming back to this site to read all about your adventures too! Much love, Marcia |
Re: Saying thanks... 5 years!!!
