New hope

Read this article today in the Daily Mail, wonder which drug they are talking about R06874281? Can anyone identify it?

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/ar...treatment.html

I was in a clinical trial with Tykerb on the tail end of my treatments but it was in pill form. This drug is via drip....

Hi
Just read this on smartpatients.com. Never heard of it until today!

RO6874281
A monoclonal antibody directed against fibroblast activation protein-alpha (FAP) linked to an engineered, variant form of interleukin-2 (IL-2v), with potential immunostimulating and antineoplastic activities.

I'm currently on a trial with Kadcyla and Atezolizumab (Tecentriq). Atezolizumab is being paired with this new drug R06874281 in other trials.

Lets hope it has great results.

So glad to hear of new things coming out, as it looks like my Kadcyla may be coming to
and end soon, due to high liver counts. I am on the treatment by treatment with this.
Glad to see this thread.

THANKS jra, The Doc. was just at symposium discussing ALL THE NEW THINGS for Hr 2
breast cancer. It has yet to be FDA approved, but it will come. WE are all hopeful
at getting other choices just in case.

WOW this is so encouraging, I am praying she sees big results and can stay on it for the 2 years as the drug company has promised.

Re: New hope

My oncologist is just back from San Antonio, and he was telling me about a new HER2+ drug this morning - he doesn't get too excited about much, but he was pretty upbeat about this drug. I'm fairly certain this is the one he was referring to (it doesn't have FDA approval yet he mentioned). It's so encouraging that more treatment is being developed for HER2+.
Cheers Marie

Bunty - That is great news that your oncologist is upbeat about this! Just frustrates me to no end on how long promising drugs like this take to get cleared by the FDA!
