you will lose one year of your life
you will lose your hair, possibly nails
you may lose weight,
you may lose a breast or two,
you may lose a bunch of lymph nodes

you may gain weight,
you may gain appreciation of life
you may gain religion
you will gain help from others
you will gain love from family/ friends
you will gain knowledge to eat healthy, exercise,
value those things that you took for granted

The losses are all regainable except for the one year.
If it takes one year out of your life to gain back additional years,
then the loss is well worth it!
