I was just offered this HER2 trial on Monday at my last oncologist appt had my last FEC chemo yesterday morning. My oncologist has calle din for my HER2 status I am ER- and grade 3 IDC with 2 pos nodes and yet had a clear sentinel.
I will be going to Kelowna /possibly Vancouver for my rads depending on clear margins re=exision I have to go in for in a month. My problem ids I understand this herceptin to be infused every 3 weeks which would mean a 3 hour drive every 3 weeks for 1 year or 2 years. Not fair for those living out of the Cancer treatment centres. This not being a chemo agent I don't understand why after the 1st watched IV infusion I couldn't get this in my local hospital with follow ups at a larger centre. Any thoughts or opinions on this? Thanks Barb |
