Gratitude Day!
I finished my year's worth of Herceptin on 7/11. I will get my rather useless port out on August 14. I am so grateful for the progress I have made since diagnosis. I eat more healthfully, exercise regularly, and just take better care of myself since this disease entered my life. My Muga Scan is better than before taking Herceptin. This is a direct result of what I learned on this site since I joined in October.
I am going to miss the people at my treatment center but not enough to want to continue seeing them every three weeks. I am looking forward to no more "crusties" and most especially having real fingernails -not these things at the end of my fingers now that split & crack and make my fingers split!! These are the only symptoms that I have had with this miracle drug, so I will not complain too loud or too long. I hope Joe and Christine realize what a wonderful thing they started! Congratulations on finishing up your treatment!!! It is a scary but wonderful feeling. I love my nurses too, but like you say - not enough...I've been off Herceptin and most chemos (I had leukemia chemo a month ago) and my nails look incredible. I pray you keep on dancing with NED for many, many years to come!!!! Maryann

Hi Marlys, Let me just say, "Big Congratulations" to you. Isn't it a nice feeling to be cut loose from all that. Thats fantastic that your Muga is better now then before herceptin. :) I sure hope mine is when I get to that point.
