Discharged as a Breast Cancer Patient!!

I am happy to announce that I was discharged as a breast cancer patient today - My oncologist told me that after 5 years of post surgery/chemo/herceptin/ Tamoxifen/Femara - I am done!! Took my last Femara pill last night on July 18 - a good omen, because 18 = Chai = Life!!!

I will be followed up at a Post Cancer Treatment Transition Clinic at Women's College Hospital in downtown Toronto once/year, and by my GP.

all the best
caya

Congratulations Caya. Really good to hear this news. Wondered how you got on with your treatment for lymphoedema? Did it settle down with treatment?
Best wishes for the future
Ellie

Ellie, yes my lymphodema did settle down. I wear a sleeve and gantlet when I fly, that's about it.
I was lucky because I caught it early, did treatment, exercises etc.

thanks for asking.

all the best

Thats wonderful Caya, I still see mine once a year as I agreed to remain on Arimidex for two more years but remember when first dx thinking five years would never come!:)

Congrats Caya!

Could you keep me posted on when you start to feel improvement from the side effects of Femara? I'm trying to do my own research and I'd be interested in knowing.

Thanks!
