~Mighty Oak~Radiologist Onocolgist Appointment~1/9/09

Friday marks the appointment for getting the big guy mapped out. I have the MRI disc that he just got done so I am armed and dangerous! Poor thing had to do this very long MRI in two days since the pain does not allow him right now to just finish in one sitting and who wants to get poked twice? He gets shots for pain beforehand but that only helps so much. Depending on the situation upon review, he may just skip the radiation and head right to chemotherapy.

Either way this is how it will go down:

Radiation Oncologist will review and map. Radiation will start Monday....

OR

On Monday we see the OncoMan anyway who will discuss our chemotherapy regime. If not radiation on Monday, chemotherapy will start on Friday.

Ed will be doing a brain MRI in two weeks to see where the brain stands. I am trying to push for Tykerb in this regime since I do not want to leave his brain unprotected. This brain issue really has me concerned now. Stubborn and repulsive nasty brain mets repeatidly.

So now, the moment we all have been waiting for......progress to once and for all to beat these awful SOB's! I leave on a positive note. I have a good feeling about what will happen for Mighty Oak, almost like God whispered in my ears. This feeling of comfort does not always happen so when it does I really 'Believe'. I believe that Ed, the Mighty Mighty Oak will conquer and reign supreme.

And Awaaaaay We Goooo!! Again.

WomanofSteel, can your kitty cats come play with my Mookie? I think they would make great friends. Maybe we can get Brenda's Milo to join. Your babies are simply gorgeous!!>>Believe51

Dear Believe and Mighty Man -

Very pleased to know that "the plan" is close to being carried out one way or the other.

Guess it has escaped my notice that a patient can't have both radiation AND anticancer therapy at the same time, whether it is chemo or targeted drugs.

What about cyberknife?? Is there one any place near you? Maybe it depends on how the bone tumors look/size or whatever whether that is a possible route.

Sending much love and "comforting energy" for taking the next steps.

Marie and Mighty Oak,

I believe also. Will be thinking about you today.
