I wonder what the medical community would say today about exposing young girls to german measles like all the mothers in my neighborhood did in the 50's and 60's. I remember going to the neighbors house in the hopes I would get them when I was young so I wouldn't get it when I was an adult and pregnant.

Very odd to think of how it was then-but I thank my lucky stars that I can still remember

Henny, you made me smile with your post as I too, was a generation that had measle parties to expose us to it. I always thought that was strange but in a way helped us to avoid health disasters later on. When the measles were going strong during my pregnancy and adult life, I made it through. I too remember Henny, and those memories of life long ago keeps getting more precious. Thanks for taking me back to a simple and pure time in my life......and do not worry, I graduated to make-over and facial parties (smiling)>>Believe51
