Did you have any tenderness in lymph nodes?
I had radiation to my left breast which included the axilla lymph nodes. I finished radiation in March and I had my exchange surgery a few weeks ago. Drains were placed for the exchange surgery. I had the drains in for two weeks.
I've noticed that my nodes on the left side are tender pretty close to where the drains were. I'm concerned because the way I discovered my cancer in the first place was a lump in my node (which was painful). I went to the Dr. a couple of days ago and she told me that what I was feeling was just damage from the radiation. Has any body else had this same type of side effect? Thansk |

Yes I did and was told there were was some nerve damage due to cutting some of the nerves during surgery and also from rads so think its fairly normal.

Tricia - thanks for your response. It eases my mind to know that others have experienced the same.
Take care |

I am still sensitive and have pain on my chest and right underarm where nodes were removed, I am thinking it is normal. I just finished radiation Sept 11th though;)

Thanks Kathy. I think it might just be normal. I only had SNB so none of the nodes in my axilla or underarms were removed. Must be the radiation.
