Re: Good News About Maitake Mushrooms

Thanks, Elaine.

I finally got all these mushrooms figured out (in Chinese):

Reishi - Ganoderma lucidum - Ling Zhi
Maitake = tree ear
Shitake In Chinese, it is called xiānggū (香菇, literally "fragrant mushroom"). Two Chinese variant names for high grades of shiitake are dōnggū (Chinese: 冬菇, "winter mushroom") and huāgū (花菇, "flower mushroom", which has a flower-like cracking pattern on the mushroom's upper surface)

You are welcome. Yes. Sometimes it is helpful to look at the kanji to understand the meaning of something. I don't read Chinese, but I read some Japanese which uses kanji plus two kinds of kana in the reading and writing system.

I don't know if I shared this with you guys before, but my breast tumor actually shrank in size when I started getting super-aggressive with my diet. One of the things I was taking was maitake.
