Fat Injections

Hi all, I am wondering if any of you went this route? I canceled my ps appt thinking enough was enough but now am having second thoughts....I had reconstructive surgery in Nov2010, double mastectomy two years earlier and reconstruction was direct to implants. The radiated breast is smaller, higher, and firmer. I will be going in for a second surgery in about 6 months to reduce the one side and create nipples. My radiated breast is a little misshapen/dented and I had read about fat injections being used to create a better contour. I have read that fat injections usually take a couple of treatments and the results can be unpredictable. I would appreciate hearing from anyone that has gone this route. Thanks, Carolyn

I am curious too. I feel so lopsided, especially being prego right now. Is it a plastic surgeon that does the injections. Sounds much easier than more surgery.

Oh wait, just read more about it. 8 hour surgery, too long of a recovery time too. Guess I was hoping for a quick fix.

Re: Fat Injections

I had them done and they are really nothing at all, a little propofol to put you out, suck out some fat from around your navel, pop it into your breast, and voila! Minimal soreness and only around the donor sites. Problem with fat injections, the fat can be absorbed and thus the filler is short lived. I have noticed my wrinkles in certain positions have increased in the 2 years since the injections, but since I really do not care it does not trouble me. I had nips done, too. Now I need to have them tattooed, but it seems I'll never get around to that. Guess I am satisfied?
