What we don't know can, in fact, hurt us!

Dr. Ben Godlacre: Why unreported trials and unpublished negative results are extremely dangerous. Our doctors depend on published information to determine how to best treat us. Our lives are dependent on published information. However, when data from unsuccessful test results is not available to our doctor, the treatment decision our doctor makes may not be the best one. And that can tragically effect our health and even kill us.

Unsuccessful trails and negative results needs to be available for other researchers and doctors. Our cancer treatments are dependent on both published and unpublished trial information.

I saw this the other day. Crazy - negative results should be just as available as positive to guide clinician decisions. I understand that there are financial drivers and implications but I am all for more transparency.
