I'm not a vegan but I like to experiment with vegan foods. I like hemp milk and coconut milk in cooking.

Coconut milk is fabulous for baking and lattes!
One problem - no calcium, unless it's added in. Almond milk contains a good amount of calcium.

I have been playing around with the idea of making poppy seed milk. Poppy seeds are loaded with calcium, and people in Eastern Europe do make milk from them. As soon as I find the spare time, I'll try it :)

Dairy products, including milk are okay if a person is not lactose intollerant or a vegan. Plant milks provide good alternatives for vegans or lactose intollerant folks.

"Perry" is a spammer. No actual intent to join in the conversation.

Plant milks can be delicious, and some of them offer nutrients that are desirable, but they don't really replace the nutrient profile of animal milk. (Which is not to say they should, I just think it's important to keep in mind.) Soy milk comes the closest to being equivalent to cow milk.

With lactose intolerance, for a lot of people "the cure is the disease." You can gradually rebuild tolerance if you used to have it and lost it. And even "intolerant" folks can manage a little at a time, in coffee or on cereal. For that matter, taking lactase enzyme works fine and doesn't cost a whole lot.
