~Mighty Oak~Brain MRI Results 'Mighty' Good

This news is short and sweet but it will become more of a reality when the GammaMan speaks it.

OncoMan said with great happiness:

"Nothing NEW in the brain and what was there is trying to disappear." Thanks for the prayers, they are working their magic!>>Believe51

I am so happy to hear this. I prayed last night and this morning expecially for the Mighty Oak. Tell him I have been thinking about him. How is his back?

oh can I get a big WOO HOO!!!!!

Believe51 02-24-2009 02:49 PM

Amelia, it has been an emotional day for us, I am in a 'drunk-like' stupor from this all. Nothing new in the brain!! Wow I love saying this as much as hearing it....yeaha!! As for the back, the pain has lightened up but we do not know where the cancer is at right now. The important part is that the pain is better, not well enough to cut back the pain meds just yet though.

He will still be starting chemo again but needs to heal his throat more and gain weight. He has lost even more weight since this last spinal radiation. Do not fear though, I'll fatten the 'ole boy up. We will be seeing a nutritionist and although this is my primary occupation, I am open to new ideas. This weight thing has been an ongoing issue since diagnosis. For three consectutive days he could not even drink an Ensure. Better days are coming Mighty Oak, I promise.

I will make sure he knows of the continued prayers from you and the rest of the family. I do believe they play an important part of this recovery process. Right now I am just happy to be able to 'visit' the GammaMan and leave without scheduling another Gamma Knife.

Tonight I am going to make us some fresh fruit smoothies that we can toast to. On a lighter note, Ed has been avoiding the topic of the 3rd year Cancerversary cruise (Sept '09). I think partly because he thought things were going downhill for him and he did not want my hopes to get up. Well, for the first time since getting home from the last vacation, he is starting to plan. He wants to take his pillow for the 2,000 ride and I almost want to pack it now (hehe). This gave me even more hope, the hope that "I" need to go on.

I love you all>>Believe51

PS.......WOO HOO!! (that one is for you Chrisy!!~wink)

The BESTEST news (courtesy of my neice).

Mighty Oak is going to be knighted and will henceforth be known as SIR MIGHTY OAK for this battle.

OK? Some artsy person here will have to design a crest for him to put on his shield.
