Herceptin and Perjeta
I'm interested in comments about side effects and experiences with Herceptin and Perjeta alone, without chemo.
I had my first treatment yesterday. Last night I slept fitfully, sweating and then getting cold, dreaming a lot, tossing and turning. I got a headache at about 3 am and finally got up to take some ibuprofen at 5. I was going to just stay up, but felt kind of ill so I went back to bed for 2 more hours. I remember some people talking about flu-like symptoms after Herceptin. I never had that, but it's an apt description of how I feel today. Any advice? Words of wisdom? Other side effects? |

Amy,
I had my first dose of P and H last week and had the same flu like symptoms-- fever ,chills etc. I'm hoping it's a one time thing. Kathy t |
Re: Herceptin and Perjeta
I've been on both for quite some time and only get a drippy nose. I usually sleep after the infusion, but that's probably because I get up so early to drive to the city, see doctor, waiting for mix and then have infusion.
I know you will feel much better in the days to come, Amy. Best Karen |
Re: Herceptin and Perjeta
Thanks, Karen. I do feel just fine now. My nose isn't even all that drippy.

Re: Herceptin and Perjeta
I've been on Herceptin and Perjeta alone for 7 months and have no side effects, other than a drippy nose. I feel better and better all the time, the farther away from chemo I get. :)
Perjeta is awesome, it has done wonders for me. Hope you get the good results that I have. |
Re: Herceptin and Perjeta
Amy, I'm happy to hear your feeling better. How often do you get the H&P? Hope you see great results quickly!

Re: Herceptin and Perjeta
I get very slight flu like symptoms the day of infusion. Do you get premeds? I don't but I know my friend needs pre-treatment with Benadryl. Or maybe just taking a Benadryl when you get home might help? If it were me I might call the chemo nurse.
