N. IL and S. WI Her2+ get together

Are you interested in meeting some of your other Her2+ sisters? It has been a long winter here in N. IL. It is time to have something to look forward to since spring is not around the corner. We are trying to get a lunch or dinnerplanned. If interested please respond to this thread. We will need to know what day of the week and time is best for the group. Whoever is interested we plan to meet half way to make the drive easier for everyone. I will be checking this site or you can private message me.

Do hope we can get a few folks together. It was an honor to attend the SABCS and meet others from the site.

HI Donna- Let me know when you decide to meet. I am in my third round of chemo and it has been pretty tough so I am not getting out too often. I live in Wheaton.

So nice to hear from you. I am sorry you are having a hard time with chemo. I did too right at the third round of both A/C and Taxol. Keep your chin up, you can do it.

My daughter lives in Lombard. I would love to meet you when you are feeling better. We are off to SD to provide childcare for our newest grandson most of April. Maybe when I get back you will be feeling a bit better.

We did do lunch, in Feb. We had a total of six Her2 sisters. We met at the Cheesecake Factory in Oakbrook, not far from you. We had a great time and plan to get together again the beginning of May. We would love to have you join us. So nice to sit with others who really understand what you are going through. We are all at various stages of treatment and recovery.

Where are you getting treatment? I did all my treatments at Rush. I go in the 28th for a muga, and to see the surgeon and onc.

I will say an extra special prayer for you tonight. God Bless you.

Hi Donna

Great to hear from you. I am getting to a better place slowly through Reiki and massage every week, good books by Bernie Siegel and Norman Cousins, swimming, and therapy. I am going for gold! I decided that we have to be somewhat our own advocates in reclaiming some sense beyond normalcy. Time really helps to change course from panic and fear to "live for the moment" and get your positive vibes going.
Hope we can get together at Oak Brook. Wild Fire is really noisy. Not good for a conversation get together.
How about Mon Ami Gabi down below. I have only been there once but it was good. I have a pretty busy schedule but if I know in advance I will save the time!
