Omega-3 Fatty Acids Inhibit Growth Of Liver Cancer Cells

In this April 2006 article the researchers found that DHA & EPA are effective in treating (in the lab) cells of hepatocellular carcinoma which accounts for 80 to 90 percent of all liver cancers.
They also found them effective in the case of cells of bile duct cancer. (Cholangiocarcinoma).
One interesting fact is the favorable intervention of Omega-3 fatty acids at several points in the cancer progression.

Research suggests these fatty acids represent a potentially effective therapy for the prevention and treatment of human liver cancers

Note:
RB has posted a 2004 article showing an other beneficial effect of Omega-3 fatty acids in improving liver & pancreas functions after tumour surgery :

Thank you for that post.

It is also good to see they are doing trials.

But my usual fear there is no profit in dietary risk reduction, so they will not get the funding to look in sufficient depth on human outcomes.

The ususal I have lost cout of the trials that on the omegas that conclude promising more reserch required to confirm and develop as a treatment and nothing more is seen.
