Coobi
Hi there-
Someone posted about the bra called the "Coobi". I, of course, had to try it (remember I am the one that also bought pajama jeans...lol) She was right. It is the greatest thing I have found since my mastectomy. I did not reconstruct. I love having a little form without the bulk. It is comfortable...so comfortable. I am getting a couple more because I wear it every day. Great suggestion! Thank you. I am sorry that I cannot remember who's recommendation it was and search turned up nothing. Love to you all, Maureen |

Re: Coobi
So, if a person, not mentioning any names, has no boobs, would the coobi work?
|
Re: Coobi
That person would be ME, Pink Girl! And yes it works. But only to provide the smallest bumps on your chest. Which I find to be enough. Just a suggestion under a shirt. The bra can be worn around the house as a little top cause it comes in cool colors and I plan to wear it as a swim top (I swim in private!)
I contacted the company to ask if they made any larger inserts but it is only the one size. The DO make a larger bra although the original is said to be one size fits all. Anyhow, I LOVE this product and am glad others do too. I ordered several more colors. |
Re: Coobi
Thanks Bonnie ... that's what I was wondering about cuz I'm as flat
as as pool table ... I'll order one today and see if I like it. One size fits all???? Even kind of extra-large pool tables???? :) |
Re: Coobi
That's what they claim, Pink. Although I wonder if the larger size they now offer would also mean larger inserts, too.
One will never be mistaken for Dolly Parton whilst wearing this but I love the comfort of just having "something" on. Let me know what you think. I just looked at your photos and map. You are OUT there! Bobcats amazing. |
Re: Coobi
Maureen
A recommendation from somebody who bought pajama jeans is a recommendation indeed. I'm in, Trish |
Re: Coobi
I checked out the web site and decided that I would go with the
'plus' size one ... except that right now they only have it in black and that's waaayyyy too kinky for moi, so I'm going to wait until the other colours are in stock. mmmmoooonns ... I don't know about those pyjamas but I'm sensing that it didn't turn out well???? |
Re: Coobi
LOL, Trish!
Pink, I wear alot of black since it is proported to be slimming. So the black one works for me. I also got a sort of charcol color. Have ordered lime green! What the heck! |
Re: Coobi
I ordered one of these Bra's and I'm so glad I did.
This has to be the most comfortable bra I have found. I did not have reconstruction and this works just perfect. However all they had was black, I went and got that any way's to wear under darker shirts, will go back and order another when they get the other two colors in. THANK YOU, THANK YOU for posting about these. |
Re: Coobi
My order came yesterday and I used the light green bra as a swim top. It was SO comfortable.
I originally found these in the Fresh Produce clothing store in my area. So you might check there, if you have one nearby Finally, after 4 years, something comfortable. PS. Are you going to the right website? Because I saw ALOT of colors available..... |
Re: Coobi
I just saw a snippet about them in a magazine... maybe Redbook. I am definitely going on the hunt for them. http://shopcoobie.com

Re: Coobi
I was reading you guys and this sounds like what I am looking for. I am flat with rolls on one side and have a small left over skin one on the otherside. Rather strange. I figure I can take the padding out of one side and kind of look the same. I ordered a black plus size bra on Sunday night. I'll let you know. Should be here any time.

Re: Coobi
Question - could you put a prosthesis in the bra? - i.e. could the insert be taken out and the prosthesis put in its place?
I have a prosthesis on my right side, real boob on the left. Thanks for the info. all the best caya |
Re: Coobi
Caya, just noticed your question. The inserts are thin and the pockets are quite small, so I dont think much of a prosthesis could be substituted. But a small one could. I have a friend who is putting in those "bean bag" inserts she got from ACS.
Coobies were not actually made for our purposes, they just happen to work very well! Maybe you should give it a try if you are not too volupuous. Let me know. |
Re: Coobi
Thanks for the info Bonnie, but I think I'm too "voluptuous" for a Coobie.
all the best caya |
Re: Coobi
Hi, I love my Coobi. Using both of the padded inserts I add three Kleenex to the right side and I almost look balanced!!!! This is do able for me. Thanks so much. It gives me a little more confidence when I go out. I plan on ordering a few more today.

Re: Coobi
Caya, sounds like Alice has found a way to maximize the stuffing. Reminds me of highschool, going full cycle with the kleenix trick!
Coobie also makes a larger size. I dont know if that means the insert pocket is larger too. You might ask them. Because it really is a comfortable garment. Keep the faith. |
Re: Coobi
Bonnie, Caya & Maureen..etc...
I bought both sizes as I cant stand anything tight on my mastectomy side, where I have had reconstruction. I also wear the a symmetry shaper on that side, which is a full prosthesis that is somewhat hollow....it weighs about the same as my prosthesis did....anyway, since I am lobsided without it, I tried the symmetry shaper in the plus size coobie, just set it in and it worked perfect....in the strapless, I did get the reg size, but the plus size was more comfy in the scoopneck style....I bought one for my sister too....she loves it! |
Re: Coobi
Thanks for the info Sheila and Bonnie - it sounds like I could try the larger (plus) size. I hope they ship to Canada.
all the best caya |
Re: Coobi
The hunt for the elusive coobi ... I have not been able to find any company that will ship to Canada ... I found them on Amazon but they
wouldn't ship to me ... even though they just shipped a curling iron to me ... Anywho ... my pal Sly Vi from Ohio is going to get me one and pop it in the mail ... I think it sounds perfect for me ... |
Re: Coobi
Oh Pink, I would have GLADLY mailed it to you too! It would be my pleasure. Plus I am in Toronto regularly for business so I could ship it from there.
Let me know if you don't get it or if I can help. Maureen |
Re: Coobi
Thanks for the tip Bonnie. Pink Girl I just ordered two coobie bras from their website and it was confirmed it will be shipped to Toronto. Looking forward to getting these bras I am now just wearing a slightly padded bra or sometimes I just dont use anything. I had a bilateral mastectomy in 08 and have not done reconstruction. I have a consult with Dr. stefan Hoffer at TGH in September to just get a consult regarding DIEP but I really dont think I will go through with that it seems like such a huge surgery and recovery. I have been following he DIEP forum on breastcancer.org. Most women say it was worth it but some have very difficult recoveries. Anyone have anything to add about DIEP? bye for now Lois

Re: Coobi
Thanks for the info on these bras...I even bought one of the strapless versions for summer....these are so comfy...although the strapless would not hold my prosthesis in place....but the regular ones are perfect...my sister loves it too.....
Pink Girl, if you need one sent, contact me...I think they come in the elusive spray cheese color....you just cant display it in the china cabinet! |
Re: Coobi
It was Amazon that wouldn't ship to me ... I didn't try ordering from the Coobie site because they only had black in the plus size version ... If I like the one that Vi is sending then I'll check out the Coobie site again and hopefully the other colours will be back in stock ... I'll have to think about the china cabinet ...

Re: Coobi
Can someone tell me if the Coobi bar works well evening a reconstructed breast and one with a small implant (I needed it)?
|
Re: Coobi
I have one side reconstructed with an implant and it works for me.
|
Re: Coobi
Thanks again Sheila!!!!
|
Re: Coobi
I am so jazzed about our little Coobie revolution here. Honestly, this bra has changed my life!
|
Re: Coobi
Just ordered 3 of them last night, and they had a coupon for $20 off, so I essentially bought 3 for the price of 2. Can't wait to get them and enjoy the benefits everyone has been touting.
|
Re: Coobi
Thanks so much everyone! I finally got mine ordered. I did the buy one get one free coupon I found on line and can't wait to be a "Cobie Girl"! Thanks again. ma

Re: Coobi
Wow!!! The coobi's have arrived.... the most comfortable bra I've
ever worn. Vi sent a white one and an off-white one. I put the 4 inserts in one bra ... gives me a bigger bump ... These are excellent!!! |
Re: Coobi
Pink Girl, what a concept, doubling up on the inserts! Thanks for that suggestion. I have begun a major collection of Coobies so can easily double up! In fact, I want to place another order today so I can have a black/white polka dot to use as a swim top.
I love how we network! |
Re: Coobi
I'm going to look for some of those inexpensive, light weight breast
forms ... I think they would be perfect in the coobi. I think I'll sew the pads together ... easier to slide them in as one unit. I've had my coobi on all day ... still has the tag :) |
Re: Coobi
Coobi update ... My regular breast prostetics fit in the coobi pockets.
These bras are VERY stretchy. My prostetics are #7 which is sort of large. I had to squish them a bit and stretch the opening but they went in easily. Now I can wear them in the most comfortable bra I've ever worn. Everything feels lighter. I'm going to keep one with my prostetics and one with the coobi pads doubled up ... this is great. I think Caya was asking if she could use one with one prostetic and I think she might be able to ... not sure of the size of her fake boob.... |
Re: Coobi
Pink Girl, thanks once again for another great idea. God knows I have alot of abondoned prosthetics floating around. All weights and sizes! Can't wait to put them back in service.
I sent an email to Coobie telling them they had a survivors fan club (no specifics). They were happy to hear it and replied with thanks. Keep the faith |
Re: Coobi
I just looked at the website.
I don't get it--what do you put in the bra? With love, Flatter than a pancake :) |
Re: Coobi
Dear "Flatter", you dont put anything in them! That's the beauty of it. They are slightly padded so they give the impression of small breasts. And you can put additional padding in because they have pockets . They are incredibly comfortable. I know that the web site might be discouraging because of the models there! lol
Keep the faith. |
Re: Coobi
Anita, a company from the UK I believe, has a new breast form for women going through reconstruction, or post lumpectomy etc, although I think even a mastectomy patient could wear it....it is so lightweight, silicone on the front, but the back is open and you can stuff the fluff in it, or pull it out, whatever your preference. They also have a cloth type back...my sister ordered 2....they also fit in the coobie without the sag of the extra weight from a normal form.
http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/yhst-8708425...2173_344693835The Anita Equitex 1057x features Anita's innovative technology of variable volume and individual filling options. Today's new operating techniques and partial surgeries require individual solutions. For this reason, the Anita Equitex 1057 Breast Prosthesis features a variable filling option. The prosthesis can be filled with dermatologically-tested and certified medical fleece through an opening in the microfiber fabric on the back of the prosthesis, which also lets the skin breathe to ensure a feeling of comfort. The design provides maximum flexibility for the compensation of small and also larger tissue deficiencies. The film covering with a matt structure closely resembles skin. |
Re: Coobi
My coobi arrived in the mail today! I am just two weeks post mastectomy and the comfort and stretchiness of the fabric make this just perfect. I filled the right side with with both lightweight pads and it matches my left well. Yay for comfort and symmetry!
Everyone on this board has been so full of wonderful information and you are mentoring me so well- thank you! |
