Re: Did you lose or gain weight while on chemo?
I gained about 10 pounds during treatment. No matter what I did the weight did not come off. When herceptin ended a year later, those 10 pounds dropped off. I'd say within a month the weight was gone.

Re: Did you lose or gain weight while on chemo?
I gained 15lbs on Taxol and haven't lost it but I haven't gone on a diet (never needed to before!). I was always tired and I liked eating pasta!! All the doctors kept saying it's better to gain than lose but....I gained way too much!!!!

Stayed about the same. Food didn't taste so good, which helped. I did try to eat well.

Re: Did you lose or gain weight while on chemo?
I finished TCH in December now just doing Herceptin. I have gained 12 pounds since starting chemo. It frustrates me as I had lost 40 before the diagnosis. I'm hoping after my surgery tomorrow (yeh - remove expanders) I'll have the "get up and go" to do something. I'm hoping chocolate and carbs won't taste so good!
I agree with everyone else. Chemo is a tough time - it's ok to pamper yourself and eat what you enjoy. There will be time again to lose weight and get in shape. Best wishes~ Jeri |
Re: Did you lose or gain weight while on chemo?
I have a high metabolism but while on chemo I gain 10 lbs max due to my carb addiction. Then I lose it. Steroids don't make a difference. Onc encourages me to gain weight in anticipation of times when I lose like the 2 weeks of acute mouth sores.

I lost 10 pounds and never gained it back. I just think it depends on how your digestive system reacts. Gods blessings to you.
