In the olden days (or to some die-hard fan of superstition [such as my Oldest Brother]) in China, Mr. Graham would be viewed as a person with a curse who brings bad omen to the ones who're married to him.

When a parent passed away soon after the birth of a child, the Chinese believed the new born's 'date/hour of birth' was in conflict with the deseased person. A monk/priest is then summoned to perform rituals to make the 'bad influence' go away..., and the child's name will be changed (or given a new nick name - to fool the evil spirits...)
